Lead acetate

Acetate lead (Plumbum асеticum, Plumbi acetas; list B) - astringent. Use only externally in the form of 0.25-0.5% aqueous solutions in inflammatory diseases skin and mucous membranes. The main lead acetate is part of the lead salves and ointments from bedsores; 2% solution of the main lead acetate lead water (Aqua plumbi) - used for lotions.
Preparations of lead acetate in view of the extreme sensitivity to carbon dioxide air retain in carefully sealed container. Cm. also Astringents.
