Autoclave

Autoclave - the device for sterilization steam under pressure and at temperatures over 100 degrees. The autoclave is used for sterilization of medical dressings, linen for operations, tools, utensils for bacteriological laboratories, nutrient media for cultivation of microorganisms and others the principle of the autoclave is based on increasing the boiling point of water at pressure increase (at a pressure of 1 ATM temperature of boiling water 99,1C, and at a pressure of 2 ATM. - 119,6C). Autoclaves are stationary and portable, horizontal and vertical. The water in the autoclave is heated to form a pair with the help of electric energy or energy of burning gas, kerosene.
The main part of the autoclave (Fig. 1): housing, water steam chamber, sterilization chamber, a cap with a rubber gasket. Water steam chamber from special high; steel designed to produce steam. Intended for sterilization material placed in the sterilization chamber. Massive cap with a rubber gasket closes tightly water steam chamber.
The cover to the chassis fasten bolts and top clamp barackobama nuts. The outer casing protects the autoclave from mechanical damage.
Modern electric autoclaves (Fig. 2) supply of hot steam is separated from the sterilization chamber. Steam is supplied in the sterilization chamber through the pipe from the pot, supplied with electric power with the regulator degree of heat.
The autoclave is attached fittings: gauge with siphon tube and three-way valve, water gauge glass tube for measuring the level of water in the water steam chamber, safety valve to prevent excessively high pressure in the autoclave, air and drain valves for air removal at the beginning of sterilization and removal of condensate from the sterilization chamber.
The staff serving the autoclave should be trained in special courses. The qualification Commission in the presence of the inspector, boiler inspection issues the certificate on the right of operation of the autoclave. For unskilled work with autoclave can be an explosion.
To use the autoclave is prohibited if: (a) has expired inspection autoclave engineer-heating engineer; b) has at least one defective clamping bolt; C) damaged at least one ear cover autoclave; d) spoiled manometer, safety valve or glass water pipes;
d) is not paid within the prescribed period of time cleaning autoclave scum and dirt;
f) the observed flow of the boiler. Before you start using the autoclave, you can check its completeness and study attached to the autoclave statement. Cm. also Sterilization.
