The tabloid paralysis

The tabloid paralysis - a clinical syndrome of bilateral lesions of the oblong brain disorder characterized by swallowing (dysphagia), speech (dysarthria (slurred speech), phonation (the dysphonia) and atrophy of the muscles of the tongue. When the tabloid palsy affects motor kernel language-pharyngeal, wandering and hypoglossal nerve or their roots; it occurs when tumors, thrombosis, syringobulbia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, myasthenia.
Treatment. Is carried out treatment of the main disease in the hospital. Needed rest, the organization of correct feeding liquid food in small portions; to improve the function of the affected nuclei and nerves - neostigmine (0.015 g 1-2 times a day), strychnine (1 ml of 0.1% solution subcutaneously) and salivation - atropine (0.0005 g in pills, 2 times a day). If necessary, emergency transportation can be made only in the car of ambulance accompanied by a doctor or nurse. At disorder breathing impose hydrochloric lobeline (0.5-1 ml of 1% solution intramuscularly), the fall of heart activity - caffeine (1 ml of 10% solution subcutaneously) or camphor (2 ml of 20% solution subcutaneously), artificial respiration.
