Cholecystography is the method of roentgenologic examination of the gallbladder using a contrast agent. Before the x-ray study produced review x-ray of the right half of the abdominal cavity. For 12-15 hours to x-ray study patient takes bilitrast or other contrast agents, washing it down with sweet tea. The night before, and 2 hours before the examination the patient with the help of an enema to cleanse the bowel. After scanning produce some pictures of the gallbladder in different projections in vertical and horizontal positions of the studied. Then the patient eats a special Breakfast (egg yolks, butter) and he produced some pictures every 15-20 minutes
Cholecystography allows to determine the position, shape, size, smexiest gallbladder, his ability to concentrate bile and to decrease after administration of fatty foods. Cholecystography can be produced in-patient and out-patient conditions for recognition of functional and organic lesions and in particular of gall bladder stones that are visible on cholecystogram defects filling. In the absence of shadows gallbladder patient can be made in holografia (see). The cholecystography produces radiologist with the help of roentgenologist in the direction of the doctor who examines the patient.

Cholecystography (from the Greek. chole - gall, kystis bubble and grapho - writing, picture) - x-ray method of research of the gallbladder.
As a contrast agent is usually applied organic compound of iodine - deyodirovania drug bilitrast (see), the molecule of which contains 2 iodine atoms. It is given orally at a dose of 1 g for 15-20 kg of body weight, the children of 0.05 g per 1 kg of body weight. From intestinal contrast medium into the blood, where is captured by the liver and is excreted in the composition of bile. In the pause digestive bilitrast gets in the gall bladder, where it is concentrated. When the concentration of iodine in the content of the gall bladder reaches approximately 0.25%, on the x-ray appears faint shadow of the bubble. In the future, it is gradually increasing, reaching normal maximum intensity in 10-15 hours after taking the drug (Fig. 1).
Cholecystography allows to judge about the position, shape, size, smaduamei and function of the gallbladder. The emergence of an intensive shade of its x-ray analysis indicates a normal selection bilitrast liver, patency of the cystic duct and the preservation of the concentration function of the gallbladder. After intake of fatty foods or special Breakfast (raw egg yolks, sorbitol, mannitol, and so on) bubble is reduced, allowing you to explore its movement (Fig. 3). On the pictures you can often get the image cystic duct and the common bile duct. The duration and force of contraction of the bubble depends on the quantity and quality of adopted food. After the reduction comes relaxation bubble and the flow of new portions of bile from the liver.
The cholecystography successfully applied both in the hospital and polyclinics. It allows for the detection of functional and organic lesions of the gallbladder. When his motor disorders observed change the duration of the periods emptying and filling of the bladder. The shadow warp bubble, the irregularity of its outlines and the limitation of smaduamei are signs of adhesions bubble with neighbouring authorities. In the presence of stones in the shadow of the bubble is heterogeneous: it defines enlightenment (filling defects), the number and the value of which corresponds to the number and size of the stones (Fig. 2).
No shadow of the gallbladder to x-ray study is most often caused by an obstruction of the cystic duct or with pathological changes in the walls of the bladder, causing the loss of concentration. To differentiate these States you can use holegrafii (see).
Side effects when using bilitrast often marked, but tend to be quite moderate. They can result in dizziness, nausea, a disorder of the intestine, rarely vomiting. Cholecystography can be made at any age (see x-ray Diagnostics in children). She is contraindicated in decompensated liver, kidneys, cardiovascular system and increased sensitivity to iodine compounds.
