    The basics of successful activity of the Soviet doctor equally are: adequate professional training, high moral and ethical standards and compliance with the principles of Communist and professional moral, ideological and political maturity and dedication to the ideals of communism. If the professional knowledge and skills of the physician are factual basis of its activities, the moral qualities of a doctor are the ideological base of it.
    Morality, along with the right is a form of public consciousness and public relations governing the conduct of people in society - a set of strictly defined, relatively steady, fixed in the public consciousness norms of behavior, expressing the will of the ruling class and reflect the needs of the society at a certain stage of its development.
    In executing its policies and its interests, the ruling class is using, among other tools and means of morality, to allow, in particular, the Central moral issue - the combination of personal and public interests. It is important, that the General requirements of morality that prevail in society, elaborated and are made specific reference to certain professional and social groups with different interests. Therefore, the main in any professional morality are the basic principles and requirements of total Communist morality, dominant in our society, and adherence to these principles is required for each representative of any profession.
    In the process of historical development of individual professional groups developed and tried to fix the moral norms regulating the relations of its members among themselves and with society in a kind of statutes, codes, "oaths". It is no coincidence that the first oath of allegiance professional, debt was the Hippocratic oath, which in a concise and shape enumerates the duties of physicians to the sick and their relatives, their teachers, were forbidden actions that may cause physical or moral harm to the patient or his loved ones.
    For many centuries the Hippocratic oath was the basis for the oath, the so-called "faculty" promises doctors in many countries, including in Russia.
    In 1971, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR established the "oath of a doctor of the Soviet Union. In this oath concentrated basic moral requirements, which the Soviet state makes every doctor and he vows to keep all my life:
    - willingness to devote all his energy and knowledge to protect and improve human health, treatment and prevention of diseases, work hard, where necessary in the interest of the society;
    - always ready to provide medical care, attentively and carefully treat the patient, to maintain confidentiality;
    - the obligation to constantly improve their medical knowledge and medical skills, contribute with their work to the development of medical science and practice;
    - the duty to preserve and develop the noble traditions of the national medicine; in all their actions to be guided by the principles of Communist morality, always remember about the high calling of the Soviet doctor about responsibility before the people and the Soviet state;
    - to take an active part in the struggle for the preservation of peace on Earth.
