Health features of centenarians in some economic-geographical zones of the Ukrainian SSR

A large amount of material collected on persons 80 years and older in the Ukrainian SSR (more than 19 000 observations), and representation of different areas among territorial units selected for the study permitted the identification of a group of persons on the principle of community economic and geographical conditions and on this basis to consider separately the results of the survey.
For statistical development and analysis allocated 5 conditional zones: 1) industrial assigned Donetsk and Lugansk oblast; 2) the Central agricultural (Poltava, Chernihiv and Khmelnytskyi region);
3) southern (Mykolayiv, Kherson and Odessa regions);
4) Western (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Zakarpattya region); 5) Kyiv (a separate area). Separate sitting area broadly reflect the specifics of the major economic regions of the USSR. Number of surveyed mentioned the economic-geographical zones of the Ukrainian SSR are not inferior to the rest of the Union republics, which are included in the development. The least number of people 80 years and older, covered by the study in the southern zone is 2018, the largest in Central - 6967.
The analysis of the investigation showed that the differences in the level of health of centenarians and age there are not only in the Union republics, but also within the individual areas of the republics, with different conditions of life of the population (table. 38).
The difference between the maximum and minimum values of the share of practically healthy (good health) long in some areas of the USSR, especially in long-lived, not as great as noted above, when data in the Union republics.
Variation in persons with poor health and in the zones of the Ukrainian SSR and other republics had very close the upper and lower bounds.
