Among the measures aimed at improving the health of children attending preschool institutions, one of the first places is rational nutrition. How clearly and correctly will be built nutrition in preschool, depends largely on the physical development of children, their health, the state of immunological reactivity, the incidence of disease.
Nutrition in pre-school institutions should be built according to age, duration of stay of children in the institution, their state of health. Most of the children is the institution from 9 to 12 hours, but some children attend group (day and night, and meals during the week fully ensured in pre-school institution. There are sanatorium preschool institutions for children with tubercular intoxication, small and subsiding forms of tuberculosis, where the power belongs to the leading role in the organization of medical and health work. In recent years in pre-school institutions are widely organized groups for frequently ill children, for whom correct catering is also of great importance.
Because of different needs of children under 3 years of age and older in essential nutrients and energy sets of products that are recommended for preschool, built with this in mind, the age division. For sanatorium preschool institutions developed special sets of products, allowing weakened children with the necessary nutrients (table. 27).
Under current situation, nurseries and nursery nursery-gardens should take children from two months of age. When the nutritional status of children in the first year of life it is necessary to strive to preserve breastfeeding, promptly enter into a diet of a child juices, vitamins, various kinds of complementary foods; the lack of breast milk to provide the child with the most rational mixed or artificial feeding, take into account individual characteristics of the child, his health, systematically monitor the compliance of the diet of its physiological needs in essential nutrients.
Every child the first year of life, assign individual nutrition, determining the required number of feedings, volume of food, its composition. At least 1 time per month, and if necessary more often, it is necessary to calculate the chemical composition of the food, to determine the amount of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, actually received by child per 1 kg of body weight, and to make corresponding corrections. With this aim in breast groups for each child under the age of 9 months should keep record sheets power, in which the doctor writes the assigned diet, and the teacher notes the amount of food actually consumed by the child during each feeding.
Children aged 1-3 years are powered in accordance with age features of the digestive system. Single and daily volumes of power supply must comply with the recommended values for children of this age. Cooked food should be sparing, without using spicy and fried foods.
For children from 1 to 1.5 years, it is desirable to have a separate menu, appropriate chemical and mechanical treatment, which uses mashed, pureed, steamed dishes.
