The role of the nervous system in the etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal disease is devoted to research of a number of authors. Some of them were on the way to experiment: turn off or irritating certain departments of the peripheral nervous system, caused in dental apparatus changes, which they considered as an analogue of periodontal disease. Others have studied the condition of the nervous elements of tooth-jaw apparatus for periodontitis, trying on this basis to identify the relationship between the nervous system and the disease.
The first began to study the morphology of the nerves of the teeth and jaw apparatus for periodontitis E. E. Platonov (1937, 1939). Detailed studies of nerves pulp and periodontal teeth removed about periodontal disease II, and III belong I. M. the Oksman and his staff (1952).
Having examined 350 teeth of patients with periodontal disease, I. M. Oxman with employees in the pulp observed only destructive-dystrophic, but not inflammation, while in periodontal to dystrophic process is always a second time, in their opinion, is attached and inflammation.

We have research data of elektrovozoremontnij many thousands teeth of people suffering from different forms and stages of periodontal disease. According to deterioration process start to appear teeth with lower anxiety, and the more the disease progresses, the more frequent such teeth and the sharper expressed by a decrease. However, parodontosis II and III stage is determined by many teeth with normal or even increased excitability, and between the degree of mobility of the tooth and its elektrovozoremontnyy dependence does not exist.
Our morphological analysis and comparison of their results with the data of research of elektrovozoremontnij showed that in the teeth of patients with periodontal disease often expressed phenomenon net atrophy; in such teeth is determined by a small number of vessels (that is why for trepanation such teeth, we are faced with little bleeding and seemingly palaisanas pulp). The reaction of such teeth on electric irritation may not be very dramatically reduced.
Along with teeth, pulp which represents a significant change, we have the same patients with a high mobility of the teeth and significant atrophy of the alveolar ridge saw teeth with normal pulp.
The intact teeth of patients with periodontal disease, we observed inflammation, bleeding, which, depending on the location and extent influenced elektrovozoremontnij pulp.
A. P. Panina (1970) in patients with III stage of periodontal disease was investigated elektrovozoremontnij 110 teeth, subject to a severe mobility removal. All these teeth were thoroughly histological examination.

As seen from table. 2, the most remote teeth differed normal elektrovozoremontnyy (42) or decreased within 7 to 30 mkA (50 teeth) and only 16 of them had a more dramatic decrease or absence of anxiety.
Morphological picture of the investigated teeth is represented in the following form. In the teeth with normal anxiety noted some decrease cellular elements. The number of nerve endings was no less than in the pulp healthy teeth. Parodontological plexus well expressed. During certain nerve fibers met swelling, nodules. But such changes are observed in perfectly healthy teeth (Fig. 8, 9).
