Our studies showed that the vast majority of older people (aged aged 60-74 years) have good and moderate appetite, poor appetite he had noticed just 10.1% of the surveyed, and women with a poor appetite was 5 times more than men.
It is known that the nutrition is essential to maintain normal aging of the organism, has an impact not only on the digestive system, but also on the whole organism. Once a hearty meal at the background of the different manifestations of the atherosclerotic process often is a provoking moment in the development of acute coronary insufficiency. Increases with age pathogenetic effect of meals on the cardiovascular system. The number of heart attacks caused by abundant single meal, increased from 0.9% In the patients of Mature age to 4.6%In elderly (D. F. Chebotarev, etc., 1969). It is in old age irrational diet with a rare but hearty meals causes changes in the lipid metabolism, increases the frequency of ischemic heart disease, while in young and middle age dependence is not detected (Rath, 1970, and others). We analyzed data on the number of meals. It turned out that the overwhelming majority of the surveyed eat 3-4 times a day, 6,W% - 2 times and only a very small part - 5 and more times.
Two-mode power men have more often than women.
Characterizing consumption of food, it should be noted that most of the surveyed older people eat moderately. Small (up to 2 kg) and large (3 kg and more) volume of food are almost equal numbers of patients. At the same time paying attention to gender differences in the amount of food consumed (men eat significantly more than women). No less important is the distribution of the daily volume of food on individual techniques. It turned out that the majority of men and women for Breakfast and lunch eat moderately. For almost half of the surveyed characterized by the use of over dinner a small amount of food (300 g). Large volume (700 grams) of food for dinner drink 10,4% of the surveyed.
The predominant number of elderly (81,7%) daily once a day use the first liquid hot dishes, a 12.5% use them only 2-3 times a week. More men than women received hot (75 C and higher) food and cold (up to 35 degrees C) in nearly equal numbers.
Taking into account the data of a number of researchers (A. A. Pokrovski, 1974; noker on et al., 1961, and others) that the nutrition of elderly and old people should not be limited to the products, and most reasonable to use some of them, we studied the structure of the actual food rations in the examined persons. Family meals we studied at 806 persons of elderly and senile age for 17 350 days.
It turned out that the range of food products consumed surveyed, quite diverse. Consider it for its six main product groups: (a) foods rich in carbohydrates (cereals, bread, sugar and others); b) meat, eggs, and fish; dairy products; fats; d) vegetables; (e) the fruit.
As is known, the food of man is characterized by the predominance of carbohydrates, the main source of which are vegetable products (grain and products of its processing). Among the surveyed more than half eaten per day from 250 to 500 grams of bread, 40,4% -up to 250 grams, with women less than men. Significant differences in the consumption of different kinds of bread men and women is not revealed. Products made of pastry included in the diet 44.3% of the surveyed. The most common eating buckwheat and manna groats, macaroni products. In the next group are the most nourishing foods. In Fig. 11-17 presents data on the number and quality of consumption of these products elderly.
