Phlebitis

Phlebitis is an inflammation of the veins. There are aseptic and infectious phlebitis. In infectious phlebitis microflora can be very diverse.
Aseptic phlebitis develops as a result of the introduction into a vein substances, sharply annoying its wall. Phlebitis, as a rule, accompanied by the formation of a blood clot in Vienna (see Thrombophlebitis).
Local manifestations of phlebitis are expressed in the seal veins, pain, and redness of the skin over it; fever, increased regional lymph nodes. The diagnosis at the surface location of the process is usually not difficult. In case of uncertain causes fever, pain in the chest, abdomen, legs, prolonged inflammatory processes in various bodies must be aware of the possibility of thrombosis of deep veins (see Thromboembolic disease, clinical picture of thrombosis and embolism).
Treatment of superficial phlebitis - antibiotics was compresses, bandages with Vishnevsky ointment, heparin ointment, with festering - opening abscesses. When deep - fibrinolizin and anticoagulants, prevents thrombus formation and propagation of thrombus in a vessel. In uncomplicated cases, the outcome is favorable, the duration of disease-five to seven days.
