Gas-producing workshop

Producer gas plant - production premises to obtain the fuel gas by burning solid fuel with a low oxygen. The main equipment are the generators; a process accompanied by emission of complex composition (carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, hydrogen, nitrogen mixed with dust, tar).
The main occupational hazards: high temperature in the workplace (summer 32-38 degrees and above); the intense heat on the boot area (40-300 kcal/h m3 depending on power generators and density equipment); the dust content of the air environment in areas grinding fuel and sort (up to 50 mg/m3). The most dangerous emission of harmful gases, especially carbon monoxide at the site shlakouborki and valves at the site of valves and actuators, on site, on the loading platform on bunker gallery, in the turbine hall at blowers. Harmful concentrations of carbon monoxide, creating opportunities for professional poisoning (see Monoxide), may occur during process upsets, the fault of gas pipelines, with the break of the closures and accidents.
The struggle with these hazards is done by sealing equipment, gas and pipelines, wide application of aeration and efficiently arranged artificial supply-and-exhaust ventilation (both General and local), thermo insulation of all heating surfaces, shelter dust-forming equipment with a local suckers from him. Because of the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning of particular importance is the organization of gas rescue service and systematic training measures provide first aid when poisoning by carbon monoxide and other gases in production conditions and measures: fire - and explosion safety. For working in gas plants should be constant medical monitoring (periodical medical examinations). The role of nurses is to organize and conduct a systematic monitoring of the air environment using the techniques of industrial sanitary chemistry. Cm. also Gas production.
