The problem of labour of older people in conditions of action of chemical substances is very difficult. With age sensitivity to chemical irritants in man is, therefore, the first stage of determining the suitability of an employee is to test the endurance or biological compatibility. However, not always and not everywhere it can be done. Older persons are prohibited to work in the presence of chemical substances of I and II class. However, in practice it happens that the production of which used the substance of these classes, acts of particularly reliable system of technical insulation workers against poisons, and only potential emergency situations entail serious consequences for the health and life of workers. For the potential risk workers receive the highest benefits: reduction of the retirement age by 10 years, working day-to 5-6 hours, there is a higher tariff wages and so on, fortunately, in most cases, reliable protection of labour maintains a clean air environment such enterprises. They are created favourable conditions of work and for the elderly, and the risk is the same for persons of any age.
A more serious security problem for older people in conditions of action of chemical substances, less dangerous, but coming into the zone of breath, or contact elevated levels. In such cases, the age vulnerability practically depends on the flexibility of sanitary supervision and depth analysis of the actual state of labor protection.
In relation to the regulation for persons of the senior age noise and activities associated with orientation on sound signals, one should proceed from the age peculiarities of hearing loss. The modern form of rationing of acceptable levels of noise depending on the frequency characteristics allows for more accurate to develop measures for health protection, taking into account the state of the organ of hearing, nervous system and organs of blood circulation, which with age become particularly vulnerable. In these cases, a General limitation of noise up to 60 dB with geometric mean frequencies up to 1000 Hz, must be qualified for the elderly. When working in conditions of constant influence of noise and vibration are recommended personal protection even in cases where the levels of these occupational hazards are not exceeded, because while; action they cause more profound functional changes. The choice of anti-noise protection means to be a doctor with the health records, and features a total production environment.
A special place in the labour elderly population is devoted to the problems of illumination and choosing optimal places of precision visual work. This should take into account the age patterns of degradation of visual functions: accommodation capacity eyes, the ability to adapt to changing the lighting and colors that older people are not only slowed, but is limited in volume, contrast sensitivity and visual acuity. Note that the decrease of visual acuity can be significantly mitigated by enhancing lighting. The need for good lighting at the elderly man more than the young.
