Glutamic acid

Glutamic acid - monocarbonate amino acid in large quantities contained in the proteins of brain tissue; participates in its protein and carbohydrate metabolism, stimulates oxidation processes. The ability of glutamic acid-binding ammonia, formed in the process of metabolism, is set for normal functioning of the Central nervous system.
In medical practice glutamic acid (Acidum glutaminicum) used in the treatment of schizophrenia, epilepsy, reactive state, depression. In pediatric practice used glutamic acid in mental retardation of different etiology, down's syndrome. Appoint glutamic acid inside 15-20 min. before meals for 1 g 2-3 times a day or intravenous 10-20 ml of 1% solution every day. Method of production: powder, tablets 0.25 g, 1% solution in sugar syrup, in sealed to 5 and 10 ml of 1 % solution.
