Ichthyosis

Ichthyosis (fish scales) is a hereditary skin disease associated with the violation of the process of keratinization.
Clinically there are ichthyosis normal and natural.
Ordinary ichthyosis is the most common form of ichthyosis, manifested in early childhood, adding to the period of puberty. Affected almost all skin except for the area bend, where she remains normal or affected to a lesser extent. As a result of reduced separation fat and sweat skin is very dry, covered with abundant Horny layers of grayish colour. Mild form of ichthyosis peeling pityriasis, in more severe forms of keratinization turns thick shiny scales up to 1 cm in diameter or dense brownish plates and panels, sometimes forming a conical projections and spikes.
In congenital ichthyosis distinguish ichthyosis fruit and ihtiosiformnye erythroderma. Ichthyosis fetus occurs relatively rarely, developed already in the third month of pregnancy: the fruit is covered powerful Horny layers ("tortoiseshell"), the internal organs are underdeveloped. Such babies survive.
The most rare form of ichthyosis - ihtiosiformnye erythroderma is shown by the solid red skin of a child, a sharply increased sweating, hyperkeratosis (see) and the tendency to the formation of bubbles.
Forecast: with age, disease manifestations are softened, but healing does not occur.

Treatment: long-term appointment of vitamin a in large doses, hydrotherapy in combination with ultraviolet radiation. Maintenance: regular lubrication soothing ointment 0,5-1% salicylic ointment, creams with vitamin a (50 000 ME for 1 g basis).
