The fifth edition of the textbook slightly reduced and made corrections in the chapters, which currently has acquired special urgency.
All the main sections (purulent otitis, otogenny intracranial complications, angina, acute laryngeal stenosis and others) made minor corrections. Thus, each related to these topics case paramedic or nurse can properly assess the severity of the disease and to timely address the question of the direction of the patient in the otorhinolaryngological Department for consultation of the otolaryngologist.

The previous editions have been translated into Ukrainian, Belorussian, Uzbek, Azerbaijani, Estonian and other languages of peoples of the USSR. In addition, the fourth edition of the textbook was translated into English and went out two copies (1965 and 1967) for Asia.
