Kyphosis is the curvature of the spine, the bulge facing backwards. Distinguish between physiological kyphosis (breast, hips kyphosis) and pathological. Physiological kyphosis - total (bending backwards throughout the spine) is observed among newborns and in the first months of life.

angular kyphosis
Fig. 1. Large corner kyphosis with tuberculous spondylitis in a child of 5 years.

Pathological kyphosis may be the corner [in the defeat of one or more vertebrae tuberculous process (Fig. 1), after injury] or arched, if in a process involving many vertebrae (rickets, flaccid paralysis). Depending on the level of location, degree of development and westernmost kyphosis talk about the defect of a bearing or deformation in the form of stoop (curvature of the spine) or in the form of a round back (curvature mainly the upper spine). Bearing defects relatively easy to eliminate. In the long course of perverse Sanok kyphosis is becoming more "tight", fixed, not amenable to resolution. The reason for the development of persistent kyphosis, in particular, is a violation of the process of ossification of the vertebrae - juvenile kyphosis.
Kyphosis cause violations of the muscular-ligamentous apparatus: in the wrong seat during the sessions, work in Sherbina position; in the elderly while easily getting weak back muscles, which contributes to the consolidation of incorrect posture. At the corner kyphosis of the spinal grossly deformed and produces a hump; when combined kyphosis with scoliosis (see) is formed rib hump. For rachitic lumbar, thoracic and for vermehrung kyphosis specific secondary changes: flattening and retraction of the chest, the deepening of lumbar lordosis, sagging belly, sagging shoulders down and anteriorly. In the long course of pathological kyphosis limited respiratory excursions chest, reduced lung capacity, weak back muscles, decreases the flexibility of the body. Fatigue, back pain reduce working capacity.
The treatment and prevention of kyphosis seeks to correct curvature of the spine, first of all - with the help of exercises that strengthen the muscles of the back (LFC). Gymnastics should include a set of exercises that promote arching the spine, mobility him in his chest, pulling; also recommend crawling and breathing exercises (Fig. 2-4).

Exercises for unloading of a spine: 1 - deep position; 2 - proglobal position; 3 - horizontal position; 4 - walk on all fours; 5 and 6 - deep crawling with arms outstretched (5) and with bent arms in cross-step (6); 7 and 8 proglobal crawling with outstretched arms (7) and with a wave of his hand and pulling feet (8); 9 - horizontal creeping; 10 - POLYCRETE creeping with a wave of his hand and pulling legs; 11 - cool creeping with a sweep of his arm and torso to the side; 12 - the rotation of the torso; 13 - walk on my knees without support in various inclinations.

Applied also massage, physiotherapy, provisions to relieve the spine (Fig. 5); corrective and unloading corsets. It is useful for therapeutic purposes put the patient on his stomach with wedge-shaped stand under the breast or on a hard bench with divorced hands. It is necessary to eliminate the adverse factors: incorrect posture of the child during school hours; the standing of the child in a bent position for a long time; with defects of sight require glasses. Out of sport activities for patients with kyphosis especially useful swimming, ball games: water Polo., pazouki volleyball ball, walking on skis with sticks. Healthy way of life, physical training, sports, being outdoors, good sleep, reasonable food preserving optimal weight and other rules of the observance of the normal mode is necessary conditions for the prevention and treatment of posture, spinal deformities. Operative treatment of kyphosis is rarely used.
