Treatment for sleep

Treatment for sleep (synonym sleep therapy) is based on the teachings of I. P. Pavlov on protective and curative role braking. Treatment of sleep leads to normalization of activity of the Central nervous system. and thus creates favorable conditions for the treatment of diseases in the pathogenesis of which is set violation of neurovisceral regulation (peptic ulcer disease, hypertension and so on). Treatment of sleep is usually combined with other therapeutic interventions, shown in this disease: drug therapy, physical therapy, diet and so on,
In the medical purposes is applied: medication sleep, electrosleep (see Elektronnaya therapy) and hypnotic sleep (see Hypnosis). Medication sleep as a method of treatment of some diseases became widespread in the early fifties of the 20th century and was achieved by individual selection of doses of sleeping pills, causing lengthening natural sleep up to 10 to 14 hours. To reduce the course doses of hypnotics the patient in a number of cases were caused conditioned reflex sleep (after combination of sleeping pills with conditional stimulus).
Patients who have shown the treatment of sleep, usually placed in a special chamber or Department, insulate against noise and provide them necessary conditions for a peaceful and lasting sleep (warm comfortable bed, a special routine, including mealtimes and perform medical appointments, and so on). Currently, treatment of sleep is strictly limited to the testimony by a doctor.
Relative contraindication to treatment with sleep are atherosclerosis of coronary and cerebral vessels and circulatory failure.
