 Troubles do not derive from
what we are doing is bad, but
 abuse good.
 French proverb

The desire to be healthy and live long course It is inherent in every person. These concepts are interconnected in many ways. Not accidentally that at present the problem of longevity reduce not only to adding years to life and life to years. Under this understanding health, activity, ability to feel and enjoy the benefits of life.
In recent years, some futurologists and scientists are less optimistic about the possibility of increasing the life expectancy of a person up to 130-150 years, as not so long ago it was written. Believe that even if we manage to cope with diseases of cardiovascular system and malignant tumors, lifetime will increase on average by no more than 7-10 years. About this at least was discussed at the IX International Congress of gerontologists. And at the same time, the combination of good social conditions, developments in medical science and careful attitude to their health can lead to the fact that people can live approximately 90-100 years. But, unfortunately, not soon. Considered to be one year of growth of average life expectancy will require 10 years of progress of society and very large material costs.
Silhouetted two main ways for increasing the life expectancy First is the socio-economic transformation, fight against diseases and other adverse factors of environment. The second way is to actively intervene in the aging process and a directional change their course, first of all at the molecular-genetic level.
In any circumstances it is difficult critical influence importance reasonable relationship of each person to their health. But not Platonic.
Writer-doctor Paul Beilin told me about the following. He happened to chair lectures N. M. Amosov, in which he talked about the problems of health preservation.
After the lecture, P. Beilin set before the audience of two questions.
- Who agree with what you hear recommendations and considers them to be scientifically justified?
From 1200 attendees did not agree with that 16 people.
- Who believes that tomorrow he will begin recommendations apply?
't felt ready to 28 people.
It was then suggested that those who will perform these tips, reported this after 3 months. Received was... 18 cards.
There are numerous studies showing the gap between what we know and what we do.
In 1982, I happened to listen to the world health organization in Geneva lecture about the method of health education of the population. It was stressed the need to initiate a concern or interest of a person to one or another problem, inform about it, motivate medical point of view and, accordingly, to instruct him. Results can, however, be expected only if the problem is recalled systematically. Is it not strange: it should be reminded regularly that better to be healthy than sick?! What we put into this "rational, reasonable, correct" way of life?
