Potnica

Potnica (synonym miliaria) is a skin disorder that appears in the hottest time of the year because of increased sweating and slow evaporation of perspiration, especially in children. Development of potnica promotes the overheating at the excessive wrap, especially infants or weakened and depleted. Potnica often develops in patients with acute infectious diseases, when applying hot compresses.
potnica Clinically potnica manifests itself in the form of small, sometimes grouped, bubbles with clear content (miliaria crystallina)that appear on the closed areas of the skin on the back, flexor surfaces of the legs, chest.
Skrivas, bubbles quickly dry up (every 3-4 days), and disappear, leaving behind a slight peeling. Red prickly heat (miliaria rubra) is characterized by a rash red knots of the size of a pinhead and bubbles with turbid contents, surrounded by inflammatory aureole. The rash elements may be located closely and to merge, forming a moist lesions, especially in the folds of the skin, and be accompanied by inflammatory reaction, itching and burning sensation. The rickety and weakened children prickly heat can also be localized on the scalp and be complicated by secondary infection (see Piodermia).
Treatment: bath with potassium permanganate (1 : 10 000) or sulfate zinc (20-30 grams in a tub) and then dusting skin powder (talc, zinc oxide in equal parts); agitated suspension (zinc oxide, talc, glycerin, purified water is equally by 25.0 g). Prevention. Careful hygiene of the skin in children and feverish patients, addressing the factors contributing to the increased sweating; in summer it is recommended to wear clothes made of cotton fabrics.

Potnica (sudamina, synonym miliaria) - a rash on nevospalennyh the skin of a large number of grouped or scattered bubbles the size of millet grain of clear or opalescent content (miliaria crystalline). Prickly heat is developing often with acute infectious febrile illnesses, severe overheating, especially in infants, when under high temperature and high humidity slows down the evaporation of sweat. Development of potnica contribute to the wrap, compresses. The direct cause of the formation of bubbles is the delay sweat in the excretory ducts sweat glands, resulting temporary swelling of the stratum corneum.
Red prickly heat (miliaria rubra) is characterized by a rash red knots of the size of a pinhead and bubbles with turbid contents surrounded hyperemic rim. Closely spaced elements rash may merge, forming a moist lesions (area large folds). Frequent itching, burning. When attaching the secondary staphylococcal infections bubbles milk-white (miliaria alba).
Prickly heat should be differentiated from acute eczema, secondary allergic rash (Pillersee, Mikey), multiple abscesses sweat glands (peripheric).
Treatment. Baths with kaliem or zinc sulfate, followed by dusting skin indifferent drying powders (talc, zinc oxide in equal parts); it is also shown agitated suspension. Inside - calcium chloride, antihistamines. With the accession of secondary infection - antibiotics syntomycin emulsion.
Prevention. Hygienic maintenance of skin, elimination of reasons causing rich and fast sweating.
