Family longevity. The results of the survey of centenarians in various parts of the country indicate a pronounced variation family longevity regional, gender, age. The role of the factor of heredity men - long-livers and age - more significant than women (table. 47).
This finding is consistent with the overall evaluation of health by sex, and given the previous Chapter. Men tend to have higher level of health. Women to achieve long-term age, obviously, requires less "hereditary protection", as because of the peculiarities of the genetic apparatus they have a higher potential life span.
Apparently observed the increase in the role of family longevity with age: among persons 90 years and over total indicators of heredity significantly higher than those 80-89 years. In the group hundred years this indicator is even higher. Specifications conclusively say that with age, the influence of social factors decreases, and the biological, on the contrary, increases.
On the role of heredity according to the data given in table. 48.
The analysis of the data collected allowed to nominate an original hypothesis of lower importance of heredity with a higher level of longevity among the residents of Abkhazia. If to consider all long the population as a whole, Divemaster to these high ages and preservation of health of people who do not celebrate family longevity, are not due to good heredity, and due to environmental factors - social and natural.
One might think that the health of residents of Abkhazia and Divemaster to high age milestones favorable climate-geographical conditions, features of the labour and nutrition, national traditions have no less influence than genetic factors. In the Ukrainian SSR with a somewhat less favourable natural conditions and the severe consequences of the devastating wars, accompanied by destruction, famine, epidemics, physical extermination, the long years of age reach only people with good heredity. This conclusion is supported by comparative data on the state of health of centenarians living in rural communities in the areas studied. The share of practically healthy people among men 90 years and older in Poltava region was 27.8%, in Abkhazia -46,2%, and among women - 16,9% and 39% respectively.
Thus, we can assume that in the General complex of factors longevity heredity if Divemaster to old age is 50-60%, while achieving longevity is 60-70%. Approximately the same figures received in respect of residents of other areas: in areas with favorable conditions of life - 50-60%, in regions with less favourable conditions - 60-70%. The rest of the complex (with some adjustments due to possible inaccuracy of the account) falls on the environment, the significant role played by social conditions of life.
A significant addition to the comparative evaluation of the role of family longevity obtained in the study of qualitative characteristics of long relatives, were examined according to the above diagram.
Differences in the genetic status longstanding different gender and age living in the surveyed territories, are determined not only by the number of long relatives at all, but the level of longevity, the closeness of family ties (table. 49).
