Occipital nerve neuralgia

Occipital neuralgia nerve characterized by paroxysmal pain in the occipital region with irradiation in the shoulder, neck, spine. Between bouts of pain-existent or poorly expressed. This pain can occur during colds, infections (influenza, angina), traumatic brain injury, cervical-thoracic osteochondrosis. Differential diagnosis should be carried out with neuralgia spinal nerve, which is formed from the sympathetic fibres weaving of the vertebral artery. Treatment is the same as when neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve.
