General concepts of the first medical aid

Modern stage of development of human society is characterized by the rapid development of technology and industry, tremendous scientific achievements, which creates new wealth for society, improving conditions of labour and rest, increases the life expectancy of people. However, the development of technology in a number of cases increases the risk of adverse effects in humans. The most typical example of the latter is the transport trauma, which amount, despite preventive measures, steadily increases with the increase of vehicles. Every year thousands of people die from traffic injuries, an even greater number of people get serious injury.
Among the measures aimed at saving lives, of great importance is the first medical aid, the effectiveness of which more than ever before it is rendered.
In the Soviet Union the greatest value is the human being, his life and health. This is enshrined in the Constitution of the USSR and the healthcare legislation. The Soviet government allocates huge amounts of money on health care, social security, the construction of resorts, sanatoria, development of physical culture and sports.
Constantly growing network of medical institutions, from year to year a growing number of doctors, paramedics, nurses, laboratory technicians and other health workers. It allows to approximate the provision of qualified medical assistance to the population and to dramatically improve the results of treatment. But even in the ideal organization ambulance when she sudden illnesses and accidents can be delayed, if nearby citizens will not be able to provide first aid. So understand the desire to educate the entire population to the rules of first medical aid. First medical aid are taught in school, it is included into the program of training of firefighters, police workers, truck drivers, studied servicemen.
