  • Weapons, in which the projectile propelled by the energy of products of combustion of gunpowder, called fire. Specific feature of occurrence of fire damage is that they are formed as a result of the impact of a projectile with a relatively small mass (g), but flying at a speed of several hundred and even thousand meters per second. To gunshot injuries usually considered also that arise during the mechanic influence upon the human body in the explosion of ammunition (cartridges), explosives (tol, nitroglycerine, gunpowder and other), the explosion of shells (mines, bombs, grenades and other).
Fire damage can have different origins and occur under very different conditions, which determines their great diversity. Depending on the origin of fire damage divided into bullet, drobovii, shrapnel.
Firearms has extremely high diversity and difficult unified classification. Usually classified firearms into two large groups: artillery and infantry. In forensic practice the most important small arms, the classification is presented in table. 8.

    2. Perforators

In addition, the weapon can be classified according to the length of barrel: long-barreled rifles, carbines), srednesrochnoi (submachine guns), short (pistols, revolvers); constructional features of the trunk (shotgun, rifle), its diameter (caliber); the way to recharge (rod, semi-automatic, automatic and others) and other properties.
For the implementation of the shots you need three components: a weapons charge and the projectile. Charge (gunpowder) and the projectile (bullet, fraction) for shooting from modern weapons (for convenience of perezarazhenie) United in one complex - cartridge.
