Alanskogo environment

Alanskogo environment (C. L. Omelyansky, 1867-1928) - differential diagnostic environment containing salts of formic acid; decomposition of formic acid some bacteria accompanied by the formation of salts and carbon dioxide gas. Way of preparation: to massoperenosa the agar or broth (pH of 6.8 to 7.0) added 0.5-1% muraviinogo sodium and as an indicator of 0.5% aqueous-alcoholic solution of phenolphthalein (10 ml per 1 l of environment). The environment is weak-pink colour. Agar poured into the tube and cut; the broth is poured into tubes with embedded in them float (in broth phenolphthalein not be added; take into account the education of gas). If seeding in O. C. bacteria dissipate formic acid, Wednesday is colored red (education reacts alkaline carbonate salts). In the broth in the floats accumulated gas. Wednesday was used by the author for differentiation of E. coli (Escherichia coli) from bruchkomitsky and dysentery bacteria. E. coli causes through the day intensive reddening of the environment. Bruchkomitsky and dysentery bacteria cause is weak-pink colouring environment Alanskogo 3-4 days growth (education reacts alkaline products splitting peptone).
Currently environment Alanskogo does not apply and is only of historical interest.
