About the revival of organs taken from the corpse

In 1903, our compatriot scientist A. A. Kulyabko, missing nutrient solution, similar in composition to the blood, through the blood vessels that feed the heart, for the first time in the world to carry out the recovery of the human heart. This heart was cut out of a corpse of the child in 20 hours after his death. In recent years, the Soviet scientist S. Century Andreev has managed to revive the human heart even four days after the death. Of course, the revival of the heart through such a long time is possible only in cases when the corpse or heart, carved from it are stored in the cold, what hinders the process of decomposition of tissues or the onset of irreversible death.
F. A. Andreev, S. C. Bryukhonenko, N. D. Yankovskii, V. A. Negovsky and others have proved, that after a short-term death Molen to revive not only the heart, but also the entire body. These scientists have established, that all organs of the human body except the brain, can be revived through long-term calculated in hours and days. The brain and especially higher his Department is the cerebral cortex, can be revived, according to C. A. Negovskaya, only in the first 5-6 minutes, and according to S. C. Bryukhonenko and N. D. Yankovsky - only in the first 15 - 50 minutes after the time of death. In any case, no one yet has ever achieved in the experiment on animals or in man full recovery of the brain after an hour after death. At the same time, the revival of all other organs of the human body could in some cases even an hour after death.
So now attempts are being made to revive the dead person only in the first minutes after death, yet occurred irreversible damage to the cerebral cortex. If people start to revive in 10 minutes or more after death, in such cases, to restore the function of the cerebral cortex is impossible and at best you can only get "busy body", that is the body, which has managed to revive after the death of all the organs, with the exception of the higher departments of a brain.
As an example, I will refer to the case of clinical practice, described three foreign scientists. They operated on a woman of 32 years.
At the end of operation has suffered a cardiac arrest, which lasted for not less than 10-11 minutes. Then the heart activity has managed to restore the body was returned to life, but in the cerebral cortex has already occurred is irreversible changes. The woman's face after resuscitation remained motionless, masloobraznyj, hearing and vision was absent, she did not respond to the surroundings. There were no signs of recovery of consciousness; there was no arbitrary motion of the limbs. The record of currents of the brain, made on 23-th day after the restoration of cardiac activity, showed that the activity of the cerebral cortex is missing. On the 26 th day after revive the patient, without regaining consciousness, died from pneumonia and kidney. If it were possible to prevent inflammation, this lively organism even without the restoration of brain function could live much longer.
In the described case there has been a revival of separate areas of the brain; this is evidenced by recovery of respiratory movements of the chest. For a longer period, death breath is not restored, but it can be maintained artificially by rhythmic blow lungs with the help of special devices, design and manufactured currently in the Soviet Union and in other countries. A pioneer in the establishment of the mechanical heart and lungs is our Patriotic scholar C. S. Bryukhonenko who created this wonderful device in the 20-ies of our century and animates using it as a separate organs and the whole organism.
In 1938, being a student, I have also designed and hand made very simple portable device - "mechanical heart". This device we set to a remote location of a dog's heart, thus supporting the life of the animal to two and a half hours.
Further experimental research and the latest achievements of science and technology (creation of advanced machines, which replaces the function of the heart and lungs, kidneys and other organs) allow you to think that you can now create a "mechanical heart", with which man shall not live watch (as during heart surgery), and weeks and even months.
In those cases, when after resuscitation of an organism have no hope of restoring the functioning of the brain, in the future we could support life such a "lively body for transplantation of organs, or for the revival of another person through the creation of cross-circulation.
At the present time we develop a new method of plastic operations on coronary vessels, which should find application with sclerotic changes of heart vessels. This operation until performed on animals (dogs), is that the artery that goes next to the heart, sewn in the affected coronary vessel below the place of its narrowing. To secure this complicated operation and make it applicable for people with heart disease, it may be possible in the future during operation connect the lively heart and lungs. If this will not have a negative reaction, if absolutely necessary, they can be transplanted into the chest.
It can be assumed that they will find other ways of replacement organs. In this respect are, for example, interest experiments A. G. Lapchinskii, who managed to grow dogs of the tooth of the transplanted them embryonic germ, taken from a puppy.
