Perityphlic (perityphlitis; from the Greek. peri - around, around and typhlon - cecum) - inflammation serous cover the cecum. The term "perityphlic" once widely used as a synonym of acute appendicitis, because the doctors were recognized last almost exclusively in the formation of appendiceal infiltrate.
Nowadays this term is rarely used to denote a local limited peritonitis, ileo-zakalnoe region, mainly appendiceal origin (acute appendicitis with the formation of infiltration or abscess). Clinical presentation, recognition and treatment - see Appendix.
