Endometriosis kidney

Endometriosis kidneys. Of the organs of the urinary system kidneys are affected less often. B. N. Baskakov (1966) in the available literature has found the publication only 8 observations of endometriosis kidneys. R. Scott et al. (1953) found endometriosis kidney monkey.
We watched 3 women with hematuria during menstruation. Neoplasm, tuberculosis and kidney stones, which can take place hematuria, after careful examination were excluded. 2 patients urine, intensively stained with blood, stood out from the mouth of the left and 1 - of the right ureter. The cyclical nature of hematuria and positive results of treatment of androgens in combination with progesterone allowed to consider the diagnosis of endometriosis kidney very likely.
It is not excluded the possibility of more frequent localization of endometriosis in the kidneys, than is commonly acknowledged and reflected in the literature. Among patients with unexplained, the cyclical hematuria can be the carriers of this rare localization of endometriosis.
The main symptom of endometriosis kidney is repeated during menstruation hematuria. However, hematuria can wear and acyclic character, as was the case in observation L. Maslow, A. Learner (1950). Hematuria is very common, but not mandatory symptom of the disease. In the publications of V. Marshall (1943), L. Fruhling, E. Blum (1951) indications on hematuria were not.
In addition, endometriosis kidney can be a pain, a feeling of heaviness and pain in the corresponding side of the abdomen and lumbar region. Pain may be accompanied by fever, a deterioration of the General condition and are cyclical in nature. The intensity of their highly variable from faint, dull, aching to painful.
One of our patients with suspected endometriosis of the kidneys, except hematuria and strong pain in the lumbar region on the left during menstruation have experienced intense thirst, drank 4-5 liters of water a day, often urinated and had to lie in bed because of a sharp weakness caused by the deterioration of the General condition and loss of electrolytes.
Objective data of the survey depend on the nature of kidney damage (forms of endometriosis). In patients with cystic endometriosis kidney its increase can be detected by palpation and radiographically. Special urological examination (excretory and retrograde urography, radioisotope diagnostics, chromatotherapy, cystoscopy, ultrasound) allows you to get an idea of the degree of anatomical and functional disorders of the affected kidney.
Endometriosis kidneys should be differentiated with TB, neoplasms and urolithiasis. Treatment is carried out on General principles.
