Pyrotherapy (from the Greek. pyr - fire, heat and therapeia - treatment; synonym: pereteraapia, pyrogenic therapy) - a set of medical methods, which are based on artificial fever patients or artificial fever. For the first time pyrotherapy was proposed in Russia A. S. Rosenblum (1876), but received international recognition after the works of Wagner-Jauregg (J. Wagner-Jauregg, 1916).
In all types of pyrotherapy the body temperature occurs under various degrees of stress physical mechanism of thermoregulation.
