Resorcinol

Resorcinol (Resorcinum; synonym Resorcinolum) - antiseptic agent. Under the influence of light and air becomes pink. Applied for the treatment of eczema, seborrhea, itching, fungal and other infections of the skin topically in the form of 2-5% water and alcohol solutions and 5-10-20% ointments. The release form: powder. Keep in the banks of dark glass. Cm. also Antiseptic.

Resorcinol is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, seborrhea, itching, eczema externally in the form of 2-5% water and alcohol solutions and 5-10% ointments. Resorcin-formalin mixture used in dental practice in filling of tooth canals. For the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases resorcinol assign inside of 0.25-0.3 g 2-3 times a day. Resorcinol is incompatible with alkalis and salts of heavy metals. In the long term (even externally) the possibility of poisoning (see Phenols). The release form: powder.
