Scopolamine

Scopolamine (Scopolaminum) - holinoliticescoe tool. Applied in the form of scopolamine hydrobromide (Scopolaminum hydrobromicum, Scopolamini hydrobromidum; list). The pharmacological properties scopolamine similar to atropine (see), in contrast, has a dampening effect on the Central nervous system.
Scopolamine is used in surgery for preparation for anaesthesia, mental practice as a sedative and for the treatment of Parkinson's disease; in ophthalmology at iritah, iridotsiklitah and diagnostic purposes (for pupil dilation); for the prevention and treatment of sea and altitude sickness. Assign inside of 0,00025-0,0005 g, under the skin 0.5-1 ml of 0.05% solution and local in the form of eye drops (0.25% solution). The highest dose of scopolamine inside and under the skin: single 0.0005 g daily 0.0015, method of production: powder, ampoules to 1 ml of 0.05% solution; part tablets Aeron (see).
