Photophobia

Photophobia is the increased sensitivity of the eye to light, accompanied by eyelid spasms, pain in the eyes and lacrimation. Photophobia is mainly seen in inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva, cornea and the iris (erosion, superficial inflammation). Especially sharp photophobia observed in TB-allergic keratoconjunctivitis in children.
Photophobia healthy eyes happens in those cases when the eye gets an excessive amount of light rays, for example if too bright artificial light. Photophobia accompanied by pain in one eye, it happens when hitting of foreign body in the cornea.
Treatment photophobia comes to the treatment of the underlying disease of the eye and the wearing of protective smoky points.
