Syringes

Syringes is a cylindrical hollow instruments held for injection, diagnostic puncture, the extraction of the contents of the cavities. The main parts of the syringe: the hollow cylinder with a tip, on the cone of which is placed the needle. Through the open end of the cylinder is introduced into the piston.
The most simple in design syringe Luer (Fig., 1), of a capacity 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 ml entirely of glass. He has a cylinder with divisions, hollow piston ending head, tolerates sterilization by boiling dismantled. For sterilization in dry-heat Cabinet are heat-resistant syringes. The disadvantage is the fragility of the syringe, especially the tip.
Syringes "Record" (Fig., 2)with the capacity of 2.5, 10,20 ml has a glass cylinder, ending at one end of a metal tip and cone for draping needles, and the other with a metal ring. Rod, a piston and cylinder - metal. Metal cover, put through the slot on the rod and ring metal cylinder needle is fixed by turning. Lack of syringe "Record" is the heterogeneity of the materials that make up the syringe. Various extensibility when heated metal, glass and glue, which is connected metal with glass, can lead to tightness of the connection cylinder with a tip and leakage of the solution.
Widely used syringe combined with the capacity of 2, 5, 10, 20 ml, consisting of a glass cylinder with a metal tip and cone for draping needles, glass rod and the piston. To wash cavities used syringes Jean (Fig., 3)with the capacity of 100, 150 ml, with a glass cylinder, metal ferrule, shaft, the piston and cylinder. Metal ring has a metal arc, facilitating the introduction of the piston in the cylinder and the use of a syringe.
Syringes special purpose: otorhinolaryngologic (Brunings)with the capacity of 2 ml (Fig .,4)for vnutrikvartirnyh injections, gynecological for intra-uterine injections, with a capacity of 2 and 5 ml syringe "Record" with the tee-nozzle, designed for continuous infusion or sucking, syringe 1 ml, intended for precise injection of small amounts of fluids (tuberculin, insulin); they graduated in tenths of a milliliter (Fig., 5).
Needles used for injection only after sterilization it by boiling distilled water for 40-50 minutes before each use. Change with injections only needles without a syringe sterilization, are not allowed. Invalid cold sterilization of syringes alcohol or disinfectant liquids due to the risk of transfer from one patient to another pathogen of infectious hepatitis. The causative agent of hepatitis may continue even after boiling III., if it's not removed the blood. So after consumption of syringes and needles immediately wash out cold, then warm water and immerse for 15 minutes in 5-10% solution of magnesium sulfate, warmed up to 40 or 50 minutes in a 10% solution of hydrogen peroxide. After that make the mechanical cleaning of syringes and sterilization (see Sterilization surgery). Correct handling of syringes and needles is determined by the negative reaction with benzidine occult blood. In hospitals and clinics best method is centralized sterilization delivery of syringes in a special packages or sterilizers - styling. For a one-time injection of drugs used spric-tubik (see).syringes
