Dental powders

Until recently, dental powders were the most common means of care of the oral cavity. Basic cleaning component of any tooth powder is chemically precipitated chalk, which added flavoring (mint, thyme, clove, eucalyptus oil, menthol and other)- Its quantity in various powders does not exceed 1 - 2%, the rest falls on chalk. Release and more complex powders, for example with the addition of baking soda ("Special"), ammonium chloride and some other products, which are designed for prevention of diseases of the oral cavity, including neutralization products germs in the mouth.
The process of manufacturing tooth powder simple: first, a chalk sifted through a metal sieve to remove coarse dirt, then it adds the perfume, mixed with chalk, the whole mass is loaded into the hopper. From there mixture of chalk and odorants serves a bucket in a rotating drum, covered with silk screens (not less than 1600 holes on 1 sm 2). Sieved mixture is served in the packing section for packaging in boxes.
In recent years the volume of industrial production of tooth powders have significantly decreased. In some countries they are not produced. This is due to the fact that the use of dental powders less convenient and unhygienic as systematic contact with the brush as you use pollutes them. In addition, dental powders are more abrasive than toothpaste. This is explained by the fact that among the surveyed persons only 20% use dental powders and a further trend to reduce their use by the population. The negative is that in dental powders cannot enter many useful biologically active additives, which are injected into paste, and because they have basically only mechanical cleansing action.
Our industry produces a wide range of dental powders, including "Metro", "VDNKH", "Sanit", "good morning", "Moidodyr", "Special", "Children", "SMID", "Orlyonok", "Firebird", "Pearls", etc. They differ from each other only taste and refreshing features and abrasiveness. So, some powders have a more pronounced abrasive action ("Special", "Metro", "Mint"), while others practically no influence on the hard tissue of teeth ("Pearls"and "Orlyonok", "Firebird", "Child" and others). However, remember that the blurring of dental tissues occurs daily in the act of chewing and provides information should not scare people with healthy teeth and normal mucous membrane of the oral cavity. If you follow the rules tooth cleaning (of which will be discussed later), then erasing dental tissues, even when using dental powders will be minimal. If there are diseases of the teeth (increased erosion and excessive sensitivity to external stimuli) or soft tissues of the mouth (gingivitis, stomatitis, parodontosis), powder to use is not necessary.
Along with this tooth powders well clear tissue of teeth from plaque, they are much cheaper than toothpastes. Deodorizing effect dental powders and refreshing properties are weak. This is because after opening the box odorant quickly exhaled and teeth cleaning is almost one chalk.
