Trendelenburg Position

Trendelenburg position - the position of the patient, in which the head and shoulders are below the pelvis (Fig). The resulting movement of the intestines in the upper abdomen, with easy access to the small pelvis organs during surgery. Trendelenburg position is achieved by lowering of the head end of the operating table on 15-30 degrees. Used in urologic, gynecologic operations, when the intervention on the rectum, as well as for improvement of blood supply of a brain at an acute anemia (see), collapse (see), shock (see). The creation of provisions Trendelenburg and conclusion of the patient manufactured from it slowly in order to avoid drastic violations of the cardiovascular system and blood supply of the brain.
