The doubling of the kidneys and urinary tract

Double kidney has two pelvis and two of the ureter. On the opposite side, there is one normal or also doubled the kidney.
Renal pelvis usually located one above the other, and never among themselves are not reported. Between them there is a gap approximately in a 1-1,5 see At this level of kidney parenchyma divided connective tissue isthmus, which in some cases is expressed clearly, others barely planned. The ureters both of the renal pelvis to the extent overlap with one or twice. Top pelvis usually underdeveloped, lower normal. The blood supply of both halves of the kidney are separate. The kidney is slightly longer than usual. The ureter can be doubled throughout (ureter duplex, Fig. 50) and in the bladder on the relevant side are two mouth, or doubled only the upper section of the ureter at various length (split ureter - ureter fissus, Fig. 50, b). Then in the bubble on this side there is one mouth of the ureter.
Double kidney is common in 2-3% of all autopsies. In most cases doubled the kidney does not show itself, and the disease it (stone, tuberculosis, tumors, hydronephrosis, and so on) are accompanied by the same symptoms that occur with normal kidney.
If there is a doubling of the ureter all over, then the diagnosis is established when the bubble incremental mouth with one hand (or both at the bilateral doubling of the kidneys). Mouth, related to top sack, usually located somewhat lower and the more medially mouth, related to the lower pelvis (the law of Weigert - Meier). Double kidney split ureter is recognized using the excretory urography or ascending ureteroplasty.
Double kidney does not require treatment. Diseases treated her as appropriate disease newdotnet kidneys. If pathological process, requiring the removal of the kidney (Pioneros, hydronephrosis, tumor), struck one-half to twice the kidneys, it is resection of her (gaminiratne); at the same disease both halves deleted the entire kidney (nephrectomy).
