UHF-therapy

UHF-therapy (ultrahigh-frequency therapy; synonym ultrashortwave therapy) is a method of treatment, is the impact on the body electric field of ultra-high frequency (EP UHF), often with the number of oscillations 40,68 MHz (wavelength 7,37 m), which is applied to the patient via a capacitor plates (electrodes). When exposed to pulses EP UHF (2-8 requirement)alternating with long pauses, the method is called pulse UHF - therapy.
Therapeutic factor UHF-therapy is energy EP UHF absorbed by the body tissues. Therapeutic action EP UHF is determined not only by the formation in the tissues of heat, but also a number of physical and chemical processes in the tissues of the body that lies at the basis of local and systemic physiological reactions. UHF-therapy has a positive effect on the functional state of the nervous system, endocrine glands, the blood and lymph circulation, improves metabolism. This method of treatment has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, desensitizing, protiwastmaticescoe effect, stimulates the protective forces of the organism and improves trofiku tissue.
When UHF - therapy capacitor plates have parallel to the surface of the patient's body (Fig). The distance between small plates at their tangential (i.e. on the same plane) location must be at least of their diameter. The total size of the gap (i.e. the distance between the patient's body and capacitor plate) for the first and second electrode is not more than 6 see At small gaps density field is greater in superficial tissues in comparison with the deep. For more uniform impact on surface and deep tissue gap increases.
The machine carefully fine-tuned in resonance. The sizes of plates must match the value of the affected organ or body part. Procedure duration from 5 to 20 minutes and more is carried out twice a day, every day or every other day, the course of treatment is from 6 to 12 procedures, if necessary, repeat the treatment after 3-4 weeks. UHF - therapy in the position of the patient is sitting or lying down on a wooden chair or couch through the clothes of the patient. The presence of dry plaster or gauze bandages is no obstacle to the application of UHF - therapy. The gap created with the help of dry cotton fabrics, felt or fixing plates in a predetermined position-elds of application. Methodology for UHF - therapy for some diseases are presented in the figure.

UHF
UHF-therapy:
1-3 - sinuses (1 - jaw, 2 - frontal, 3 - maxillary, frontal and lattice); 4 - the area of the spine.

Metered UHF-therapy the patient's sense of heat In the area of impact, and the readings on the machine. There are three doses: without the feeling of warmth patient, with a slight feeling of warmth and with distinct feeling of warmth. The technique of procedures pulse UHF-therapy is the same. When the wrong location of the capacitor plates exposed to moist skin or through wet bandages possible burns.
Indications: acute, sub-acute and long-term current inflammatory diseases, including purulent (infiltrative phase and the phase of festering in the presence of conditions for drainage of pus); some diseases of the peripheral nervous system, obliterating endarteritis, polio from the early period of the disease, progressive muscular dystrophy, sciatica, kauzalgia, long-term healing wounds and ulcers, frostbite I, II and III degrees.
Contraindications: neoplasms, lack of cardiac events decompensation, has expressed atherosclerosis and thyrotoxicosis, the propensity to bleeding, pregnancy, tuberculosis at the widespread lesions and the risk of raising hemoptysis.
For UHF-therapy use stationary units of Screen 1 Screen 2 and UHF-300 and portable UHF-4, UHF-66 (40-80 W)and UHF-62 and UHF 30 (15 and 30 W). Apparatus UHF-300 should be in shielding the cabin, the others - in a regular room physiotherapeutic Department. When conducting UHF - therapy should be subject to the same measures of safetywhen inductothermy (see). Cm. also Electrotherapy.
