Urography

Urography is the method of roentgenologic examination of the kidneys and of the urinary tract with intravenous administration of contrast agent. Excretory urography is based on the ability of the kidneys to allocate contain iodine substance. It is applied at the majority of urological diseases. Urography allows you to define the functional ability of the kidneys and of the urinary tract and judge their morphology.
In preparation for urography patient within one or two days before the study produced a sample tolerance of iodine in the vein type 1-2 ml of the radiopaque substance. When signs yodizma (rhinitis, urticaria, edema) of the drug is contraindicated. Intravenous administration of radiopaque agents containing iodine is contraindicated in patients with severe violation of excretory functions of the kidneys, liver disease, hyperthyroidism. Sick the night before and 2 hours before the test cleanse the intestines from feces and gases with enemas. Before urography produce a General view of the kidneys and urinary tract.
For urography use Sergazin (40 ml of 40% solution), cardiotest (20 ml 35% solution) or other contrast agents, which is slowly injected into a vein in the elbow bend. Then produce 3-5 x-rays of the kidneys and urinary tract when the patient on the back and concentrations of x-ray tube on the median point between the navel and the pubic area. The first snapshot made after 8-10 minutes after injection of a contrast agent, the following (depending on the received image and purpose of the study) through 20, 40, 60 minutes and 2 hours.
Programme allow the study of the excretory capacity of the kidneys, the form and dimensions of cups and pelvis, and also to reveal the stones, to set their location and resulting in the kidneys and the urinary tract changes, to determine hydronephrosis, tuberculosis, tumors of the kidneys and other diseases associated with functional impairment. When unilateral disease urography allows to judge about the function of contralateral kidney.
For research contractile and motor functions filled by contrast agent urinary tract apply Orochimaru (radiography using mobile kinografika grid) and orientedcoordinatearray (filming with an electronic-optical amplifier).
When analyzing programme results urography is correlated with clinical data.
