Vibration disease

Vibration disease (synonym: vibration angioneurosis) - professional disease that is caused by prolonged exposure in contact with high levels of vibration.
The harmful effects of vibration in the body depends on the strength and vibration spectrum, duration continuous contact during the working shift, square body working in contact with the vibrating surfaces, the conditions of the organism and individual sensitivity.
Enhance the effect of vibration, high levels of noise, cooling, forced posture, muscle strain, monotonous work, the return of an impact tool.
Vibration disease has a great variety of symptoms, depending on the area of application of vibration and from a number of related factors. The disorder is based on reflex effects of vibration on the various departments of the peripheral and Central nervous system.
Distinguish between local and overall vibration. Vibration transmitted to the hands of the working manual mechanized tools, has a local impact. In case of fluctuations in the workplace (floor seats) vibration affect the whole body - the vibration of the total.
Vibration disease, caused by local vibration when operating manual mechanized tools with frequencies 35 Hz and above, characterized by capillaries spasm fingers gradually exciting vessels brush, and a violation of sensitivity (pain, vibration, temperature). Outside attacks of angiospasm brush swollen, cyanotic, the fingers go numb, lose their ability to hold items.
When working with hand tools and equipment with frequencies 35 Hz and below changes occur in neuromuscular and osteo-articular apparatus without spasm of blood vessels (muscle atrophy, deformation of fingers, joints, fractures nails, miofasciali, tendovaginitis, soreness in the course of the nerves and plexus).
In vibration disease caused by vibration, the main symptoms are observed on the part of the Central and autonomic nervous system: headache, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, irritability, pain in the lower back, stomach, chest. Possible functional disorders of the endocrine gland (hyperthyroidism, menstrual disorder), internal organs, metabolic processes.
The vibration disease diagnosis put on the establishment of clinical symptoms taking into account the characteristics of working conditions, which specifies the time (work experience), contact with vibration and levels, taking into account spectrum.
Treatment is effective in the initial stages. Shows the vasodilator drugs and ganglioblokirtee actions, vitamins, physiotherapy, medical gymnastics, Spa treatment. Treatment of vibration disease should be combined with rational employment (translation work that is not related to the action of vibration).
Prevention of vibration disease includes a range of activities outlined in the "Sanitary norms and rules when working with tools, equipment and mechanisms that create vibrations transmitted to the hands of the workers, and to limit the total vibration jobs", approved by the chief health inspector of the USSR on may 13, 1966, no 626-66 and 627 - 66. To work with vibrating equipment is available only to persons under 18 years of age without contraindications (diseases of the nervous system).
Total contact time with vibration should not exceed 2/3 of the time working shift. The room temperature should be not below 16 degrees. Prohibits overtime work.
Reduction of time of contact with vibration is achieved through the development of related professions not related to vibration. Recommended: medical gymnastics, massages, water procedures, a daily intake of vitamins B1 and C.
Workers should undergo periodic medical examinations at least 1 time per year.
