Symptoms of emotions

Every emotional state, formed under the influence of neural and humoral incentives as an integrative whole in the Central nervous system of an animal, further spreads the neural and humoral by the pituitary gland) in the downward direction on the peripheral organs and has a distinct expression in their activities (Fig. 7).

Emotional discharge, being integrated at the level of subcortical structures, goes to the periphery as through the autonomic and somatic nervous education. These peripheral expression of emotional discharge (components emotions) have different physiological properties. There are controlled and uncontrolled components of emotions. For example, a person arbitrarily regulate his speech, behavior, reduction of mimic muscles of face, breathing, and often even tearing. However, arbitrary regulation of cardiac activity, blood pressure, reduction of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and activity of the endocrine glands, so a rule, it is impossible (Fig. 6). The degree of participation of certain departments of vegetative nervous system in emotional arousal very variable in different emotions and different agents. So, if anger and fear prevail sympathetic discharges, while pleasant emotions are followed by the domination of parasympathetic activity. However, some tend to neurotic reactions of the people and in a state of fear discover mainly parasympathetic response. Most clearly seen in the mentally ill. This diversity of participation of different departments of vegetative nervous system in the emotional excitation is determined by various source neurohumoral state of the organism.
