Features of actual nutrition and health in old age

Analyzing research on various aspects of nutrition of elderly and senile age, it is impossible not to pay attention to one important fact: the number of the researches devoted to recommendations on their diet, much higher than the number of studies analyzing the actual food intake.
In fact, the actual nutrition is a complex "alloy", features which is due to the person's position in the family and society, climatic and geographical area of residence, national traditions and habits, economic opportunities, and so on, it is obvious that quite grounded recommendations in this area should be based on in-depth data obtained from the study of the actual dietary habits.
In the Russian literature should mention the work of G. M. Natadze et al. (1957), L. C. Baranovsky (1966), And. So Berulava et al. (1966), Yu. M. Nemenova, A. A. Pokrovsky (1966), S. I. Kulikova (1967), e, P. Wagane (1976)on hygienic assessment of the different parties of the actual nutrition. However, most of these studies conducted in humans mainly of 60-70 years. This also applies to the 3 studies. M of granovskogo et al. (1971), held in the North-West zone of the USSR, to research By S. Petrovsky and C. A. Kudasheve (1970)-in the Central zone of the RSFSR, the works of S. I. Kulikova (1967) -in the Stavropol region and up. Among studies of this plan, made abroad, one should mention the work Burger (1960), Hartiala (1965), Durnin (1968), Ketz (1973), ., Gejda (1974) and others
However, an in-depth analysis of domestic and foreign literature suggests that a number of the most important aspects of the actual nutrition studied enough. So, if in literature quite detailed data on the calorific value of food rations, the content of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, dietary habits and traditions, we could not find a generalized materials characterizing the content in the actual diets fatty acids (in particular, polyunsaturated), amino acids, most of the currently known vitamins, macro - and microelements.
Without taking into account the contents of the said biological substances in food may not be a scientific assessment of the actual power of an aging person. The accumulation of new data in this area, in particular in respect of biologically active substances, taking into account the different climatic and geographical zones of the country would develop differentiated norms of nutrition for older people in accordance with the accepted in our country and abroad age classification 1.
It is very important to study and evaluate the actual food of centenarians, for it's long been interested in not only specialists, but also the broader population. Moreover, attempts are made to explain the longevity in specific populations features power. In assessing the power of centenarians often attempts to summarize the nature of food of centenarians. The studies conducted in small groups of centenarians using one of the methods of research of the actual power, most of the survey.
In the literature, we almost never met data characterizing features of the actual nutrition of elderly and old people with physiological ageing. That's why we thought it necessary to examine this issue. However, we knew that in a big and important issue of the actual power, his objective hygienic assessment indispensable comparison of features of it with the state of health (with all the conventional sense of the term) of the surveyed populations (A. A. Pokrovski, 1964).
